In 2005, Multinet Pakistan announced the launch of Ittehad (Nationwide Optic Fiber Backbone); this project links 107 cities of Pakistan with a 4,100 Km high-speed, high-capacity fiber optic link.

Multinet’s high capacity link will cater to the needs of Pakistan’s booming Telecom sector offering carriers’ carrier services to: Mobile phone operators, LDI operators, LL operators, WLL companies, Broadband Service Providers and Internet Service Providers which will greatly enhance Pakistan’s overall telecommunications infrastructure.

Project Ittehad is a massive infrastructure project and will greatly enhance and revolutionize Pakistan’s communications sector. Indeed it will be a key enabler of e - commerce, e -government services and will greatly energize Pakistan’s overall ICT industry.
